Aisha's Jewel

Overview

Aisha's Jewel is a five-unit row-style townhome development in downtown Osoyoos, BC, built in partnership between Admirable and Joe, a long-time collaborator and friend. The project is named for his daughter Aisha, who passed away. It was important to both of us that something lasting carried her name. We managed the full scope from site acquisition through permit, build, and final clean.

The Challenge

Osoyoos presents specific construction challenges: desert summers exceeding 40 degrees, a trades market thinner than Metro Vancouver, and a municipality with distinct permitting requirements. Material sourcing required advance planning, and the site's proximity to the downtown core meant strict noise and access controls throughout the build.

Our Approach

We front-loaded the permitting and trade coordination process, locking in mechanical and framing crews six months ahead of groundbreak. The design prioritised heat management: deep overhangs, high-performance glazing, and mechanical systems sized for the climate. Project management was handled out of our Vancouver office with a dedicated on-site lead for the duration of the build.

The Result

All five units were delivered on schedule and on budget. The exterior finished in earthy tones with contemporary detailing that respects the desert landscape while standing out on the street. Post-construction cleanup was completed by our own team before handover. The project stands as both a quality benchmark and something more personal. A name preserved in something built to last.
